Couples Counselling
Couple therapy is a type of mental health treatment that involves sessions between a therapist and a romantic couple. The therapist helps the couple improve their relationship by exploring issues, working on communication, improving interactions, and resolving conflicts. Couple therapy can have different goals, such as enhancing intimacy, repairing trust, or preventing divorce. People may seek couple therapy for help with various challenges in their relationship, such as infidelity, sexual problems, parenting disagreements, or financial stress. Couple therapy can use different approaches or modalities, depending on the therapist’s training and the couple’s needs. Some common types of couple therapy are emotionally focused therapy (EFT), Gottman method, narrative therapy, behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Each type of therapy has its own methods, techniques, and benefits. Couple therapy can be very difficult, and it takes a lot of hard work such as being emotionally vulnerable and honest, but if it can save a marriage or a family then its effects can be long-lasting for everyone.
