Joanne Wharton, RP (Qualifying)
I understand that life can bring a variety of challenges—whether it's anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship struggles. My goal as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate these experiences. I believe in building trust and providing a safe, non-judgmental environment that allows clients to explore their concerns confidently.
I am a dedicated and compassionate Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University. I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to my clinical practice, having worked with individuals facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
I prefer to use an evidence-based integrated approach with my clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Empty Chair Technique using Person-Centered Therapy. I aim to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where my clients feel understood, supported, and empowered.
My experience also extends to crisis intervention, behavioral observation, and working with diverse populations, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I take a client-centered approach that focuses on fostering personal growth, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, and developing effective coping strategies.
Through my thoughtful and client-focused approach, I aim to support individuals on their journey toward mental wellness. I value ongoing professional growth and am committed to staying current with the latest developments in the mental health field to ensure that my clients receive the highest standard of care.
